Parent Dedication

SUNDAY, November 10th

The most important task God gives us as parents is raising children in the way of the Lord. At North Phoenix, we love families and we’d love to come alongside you as you and support you as you model a Godly lifestyle to your children.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. – Proverbs 22:6

No matter how old your children are, we’d love for you to join us! This special dedication service is a unique opportunity for you to make a covenant with the Lord as you raise your kids in a Godly home.  If you are ready to take this step, click or tap the button below!  Or if you have questions, check out the FAQ’s below.

Parent Dedication begins with a celebration dinner at 6:30 pm on the Wednesday before the service. We’d love to celebrate this exciting moment with you and connect you with other families in the church. Then, on Sunday morning at 10:30 am, we’ll gather together as Pastor Noe leads us in a special time of prayer and dedication. You’ll receive a commemorative plaque as a special reminder of your commitment to God!

FAQ’S

What is Parent Dedication?

Parent dedication is a ceremony in which parent(s) make a covenant with God to raise their child in the ways of the Lord.

Why Parent Dedication?

The Bible does not command us to do parent dedication, however the Bible does command followers of Jesus to raise their children in His ways! Often the ceremony is a powerful day that will serve as a reminder for years to come that one of our primary responsibilities as followers of Jesus is to teach our children about Jesus!

What should I expect?

Parent dedication happens in 2 parts: a dinner (Wednesday Night) and the ceremony (Sunday Morning).

For the celebration dinner on Wednesday night, we will have an area to take a family photo on your way in. Then you will drop off your child(ren) while you go to the dinner.  The dinner will last about an hour and a half.

On Sunday at 9:30am the families will gather for coffee and snacks to begin getting in place. We will then walk over to the sanctuary. At the top of the service we will walk on the stage for the ceremony. Pastor Noe will say a few words, give you a gift, pray and we will walk out.

Why do I have to go to the dinner Wednesday night?

We want to celebrate with you!  We also want to explain why we do parent dedication and what it means and doesn’t mean.  If you can’t make the dinner this time around, you can plan to make it next time!

How often does NPHX do parent dedication?

We hold parent dedication twice a year (Fall & Spring)

Who can participate?

Anyone!  There are no age limits for children!  Again, the focus is more on the parents than children as the parents are making the commitment to raise the child in the ways of the Lord. Parents do it after having a child, after adopting a child, or after the parents have decided to follow Jesus!

What is required?

We only ask that you participate in the parent dedication dinner the Wednesday before the ceremony and particpate in the ceremony on Sunday morning.

Can multiple children participate?

Absolutely! If you were not in church or never had the chance to do parent dedication you are welcome to participate with all of your children!
